University of Georgia
The project will renovate Russell Hall, originally constructed in 1967, reconfiguring all living, bathroom and some programmatic spaces. This includes providing additional privacy for students in community bathrooms and removing built in furniture which are specific improvements requested by students. The construction budget for the 213,000 square foot structure is $44,500,000.
Merik performed building envelope commissioning services for the University of Georgia. A full slate of services were provided, including observation and testing of the roofing, windows, sealant, brick veneer, and steel shelf angles.
Merik conducted ASTM 1105 testing (water and air) of mockup units and installed units. More than 50 windows were water tested at various levels and elevations using the AAMA 501.2 standard.
