This 313-acre botanical garden on the Middle Oconee River serves as a cultural, educational and recreational facility and is one of Athens' most-visited attractions. The conservatory is operated by the University of Georgia.

The pyramid skylight units installed across the main conservatory building were experiencing leaks across the entire roof area. A field assessment by Merik determined the units required maintenance repairs rather than replacement.

Merik provided the design documents, construction contract administration, construction observation, water testing and final punchlist inspection. Coordination of the work with continued operations of the facility presented a challenge. Every insulated glass panel was removed with new gaskets and wet seals installed. The facility is actively used with private events and University functions.
