Course Title: Safety / Insurance 101
This course provides a basic understanding of insurance requirements and guidelines for those in the roofing industry in terms of risk control and safety, limiting exposures, the underwriting and claims processes, as well as legal considerations. CNA insurance representatives will discuss:
Bob Cauthen, CSP, CRIS - Risk Control Consulting Director
- Bob joined CNA in 2010 and he provides consulting services to CNA clients and assists in evaluating potential clients for insurance underwriting purposes
Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer - Construction and General Industry
Grayson Gilbert, CFPS - Risk Control Director
- Grayson joined CNA in 2003 and leads a staff of eight Risk Control Consultants for the Atlanta, Birmingham, and Charlotte branch offices
Responsible for determining risk acceptability for underwriting purposes, assisting in Branch growth, retention, and profitability plans, as well as ensuring the quality, technical expertise, and efficiency of the risk control department. Grayson also holds the Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), and UL Recognized Risk Engineer (RRE) designations
Cynthia Evans, CRIS - Underwriting Consulting Director
- Cynthia joined CNA in 1998 and underwrites commercial insurance (property & casualty lines - primarily construction) for the Atlanta branch.
Responsible for the Atlanta Branch Construction Portfolio and the Professional Services Segment for the CNA's Southern Zone. She is a graduate of the Florida State University with a BA in Finance and a BA in Risk Management and insurance. Cindy also holds a CRIS (Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist) designation.
Ian Rapaport - Director and Managing Trial Attorney
- Ian joined CNA in 2006 and manages the staff legal counsel team for the Atlanta branch
Ian has been a practicing trial approved attorney in Georgia since graduating from Emory University School of Law in 1993. Ian has been the managing trial attorney for the CNA insurance companies in Georgia since October 2006. His practices focuses on defending a variety of licensed professionals in malpractice actions, construction, products liability and catastrophic injury. He has substantial trial experience, having served as lead consul in more than 35 jury trials taken to verdict and more than 150 bench trials. In addition, he has more than 24 appeallate appearances and 17 officially reported decision from both the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Ian has an AV preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. He also has consistently been rated as one of Georgia's Top Lawyers by both the National Law Journal and American Legal Media, including special recognition for his expertise in Insurance Law, Litigation and Personal injury. In addition to numerous internal and external seminars and speaking engagements. Ian served as an adjunct professor for the practicum course "Pre-Trial Litigation" at Emory University School of Law from 2000 to 2012.
