Exterior walls are the primary defense of your building. However, they are easily plagued with ventilation and moisture issues. At Merik, we specialize in reinforcing exterior walls so they function as intended and provide the security you need for your building.
Even the tiniest amount of water that penetrates exterior walls can be a cause of concern. Over time, these can lead to significant damages to your buildings, a sharp decrease in the lifespan of your building enclosures, and high maintenance and repair costs.
With our exterior wall services, our goal is to help you alleviate these possible consequences through proper diagnosis and correction of wall system failures. We’ll help you identify issues such as the following:
Wall systems generally have a long life expectancy and are designed and built to last. However, over time, as these wall systems are exposed to weather and the elements, the structural integrity of these systems may fail, giving way to a host of water intrusion problems and other structural issues.
On the other hand, some buildings are also victims of poorly designed or poorly built wall systems. Lack of proper flashing, incorrectly installed windows, or poor choice of materials can lead to early deterioration of building enclosures.
Our goal at Merik is to create a reliable security blanket for your building.
We start with a forensic testing of problem conditions surrounding your wall systems. This helps us diagnose any water intrusion or structural issues leading to damages.
Additional performance testing of system assemblies and units gives us a better understanding of existing failures, which then helps us design and specify the appropriate corrections.
We then develop design and specification documents for correcting the identified problems. These documents help us supervise and monitor construction processes that follow.
